Peter Paul Rubens House and the Mas Museum

The last day in Antwerp we visited the Rubens House - and the fantastic Mas Museum.  Apparently it was the custom to have very short beds, certainly by todays standards as people slept in a half seated position to aid digestion!!

The Mas Museum has about 9 floors and from the top you get an amazing 360 degree view of Antwerp.  This port is HUGE.  The building is quite fantastic - and each floor has a slightly different theme on power, influence, conquerers, death and religion.  There is also an amazing Maritime floor, filled with models of sailing ships.

  2. Yes I had a complete meltdown initially and then I talked myself down with some help from B. It's always a wake up call. But you know I had a funny feeling before that happened - a kind of very heavy, depressing mood. I was definitely not feeling great so!!! i don't know. We are in Lecco on the Italian Lakes - sunny and lovely and tomorrow we pick up the car from Milan. love to you both XXXXX Me and He
